was looking for help on this,,
favorite places will not open by useing the start menu, but will open from
internet explorer. was wandering if there was a fix for this or what could be
causeing the problem

You could go to C:\Documents and Settings\Your Name\Favorites. Rt click
and select Send to Desktop as shortcut.
Once that's done then just drag the Favorites shortcut to the Start
Button.
