have a new problem which (I think) started when I installed iTunes 5.0. I
haven't been able to fix it in the past week.

Noteworthy is that I do not own a copy of Adobe Premiere (which I think is
associated with SmartSound Quicktracks)

This problem happens with at least 2 separate programs, neither of which
have anything to do with the other. Obviously this is a Windows problem, but
I can't fix it!

When I click on the two programs, I get a message that it is trying to
install SmartSound Quicktracks Plugin (standard Windows installation). It
then says "The feature you are trying to use is on a network resource that is
unavailable" and asks me for a location of the Plugin. It defaults to one of
my Temp directories. When I click cancel, I get "Error 1706. No valid source
found for the product SmartSound Quicktracks Plugin. The Windows Installer
could not continue." It then crashes and gives me an "InstallDriver Module
has encountered a problem and needs to close. We are sorry for the
incovenience." And the usual "Send Error Report" "Don't Send", etc.

I have to click cancel around 7-14 times and then finally the program loads.

HELP!!!

I have also had this problem since installing iTunes, so I think it is
related to that installation. Have you ever found a solution?

I had pinnacle installed on my computer..apparantly it has quicktracks
installed with it. I looked in control panel...add-remove programs and
found it under smartsounds. However, I wasn't having a problem like
both of you have been having until I installed iTunes and QuickTime 7.
If you go to the www.smartsound.com/support/updates.html site , you
will see that they believe there is a compatibility problem and it's
with quicktime 7. Search the site for smartsound quicktracks plugin
error. Anyway, I downloaded an update (free) , installed it and the
next time that little install program came up it finished. So far no
more error. It was easy, but what a bugger of mystery. Thanks for
posting your problem. Hope the update works for you. Oh, and if you
have ulead video or cyberlink programs on your computer,,,the same
goes for you.

What is Quick time, I am having the same problems with iTunes and have jumped
through many hoops. Do I need Quick time??
