- HELP with my new laptop & wireless connection
- Posted by alamode800 on October 23rd, 2005
I just got a wireless route so I can be on my desktop and my husband can
be on his laptop (SBC DSL). His new laptop acknowledges the signal and
he can get on to the main page of MSN. After that, when he types
anything into the address bar or clicks on any link he ALWAYS gets this
message box: CONNECT OR STAY OFFLINE. He can go no further. How do we
tell Windows XP that he is on WiLan, does not need to dial out to DSL or
phone dial up?? His laptop has wireless capability, shows he has the
connection and will bring up MSN without any problem. But after the
first page we are dead in the water. Can't go any further unless we
dial out with phone line. HELP - Anyone - HELP!!
