Help needed to configure Windows XP home and connect router to allow 2 computers to use one cable modem connection.
Posted by dk on September 24th, 2005

I have a RCA DCM305R cable modem and an EtherFast BEFSR41 router. I have
two computers in the same room. Both have an ethernet card installed.
I need some help hooking things up and then configuring the computers so
that the second computer can access the internet through the cable modem, as
the first does.
This should be easier than it has become for me. Any suggestions would be
greatly appreciated.

Hi ... What you have to do is , Take your internet cable wire , hook it up
to your rca moderm , Then attach the cable from your rca to your router ,
Then use 2 cables for your computers , which at that time you would restart
your computers and see if you are able to connect , Then afterward you would
go to your router manual set up , I believe you need to go to 192.168.0.1
address , not really sure if its correct but , You should have that info
from your router manual , Once there just run the set up option ....
