- Help please, Internet is not working on Windows XP any more.

My problem is kind of interesting, my laptop running Windows XP, if I
use it at work where I have to go through a Proxy to access internet,
it works like a charm. But if I hook up same laptop at my home network
without Poxy direct connection to Cable Internet, it unable to access
Internet. It was used to work without any problems but last few days I
have no idea what happened it just start behaving like this. I tried
everything, turn off my Firewall, repair my network connection, ran
Anti Virus, ran Spam Killer, ran tools to detect Worms.
If any of the Microsoft folks please help me I am totally furstrated
now.
Thanks

Try opening Internet Explorer, got to "Tools" -> "Internet Options" ->
"Connections" -> click on "LAN Settings" down at the bottom. On the "Proxy
Server" section, uncheck both boxes.

I tried what you mentioned it doesn't work, I drill down into the
problem and figured out that I can access through the IP directly,
something wrong with the Domain Names, I tried almost everything to fix
the DNS problems including flushing and repairing, even I installed the
Service Pack 2 again, but still no working, if I launch "nslookup" it
gave me error of "Time Out", so anyone please help me.
