HELP---Problems with NSW & TEMP files
Posted by 25or6to4 on March 3rd, 2006

Thank you for your response and help. One more thing I meant to ask earlier,
and I'm hoping you will check back and help again, When I delete "TEMPORARY"
files, it only shows a handful of files, however, I have Symantec NSW 2006,
and when I look at the sites in it's memory (used by the "Goback" feature) ,
even over night when idle, there is a TREMENDOUS amount of temporary items
and this just floods the system's GoBacks restore point -- ??? Where are
these files, and should I try to go back and delete some of the older temp
files ?? I know the GoBack feature holds numerous sites in memory in case the
need to actually go back to a point in time, but if not needed, should I try
to get rid of these "Temporary" sites, and where would they be located ??
The "overnight space eater" refers in GoBack "Program and
Files\Messenger(which I don't use and click it off) \msmsgs.exe - Embedding"
Is this the MSN Messenger, or is this referring to something else altogether??
I don't use the messenger anyway .... could I move it to another folder to
deactivate it ??
One other problem I am REALLY having trouble with is the tremenuous amount
of time for the pc is active ...
I get Desktop, but there are no icons on desktop, and after an extremely
long time, it MIGHT load up.
Sometimes,. I just turn it off and after a few minutes, turn it back on and
everything seems okay.
However, when I pick a website icon (or, type out locations), I get a half
page loaded, or worse, and boxes where choices are usually at that space, are
blank with a red "x" in the top left of the box I have to keep hitting the
refresh button to get the page to continue loading.
---Thanks for any help---
