- HELP!What is an MYC type file?
- Posted by Mike Sr on October 30th, 2005
This is a repeat
Using explorer in windows XP to view files, I've started to see two file
types,CHP type in normal text and MYC type in blue text. I don't know the
difference, and why the MYC type is now displayed, and what if anything to do
about it.

Hi Bert-
Thanks for the suggestion. Apparently an MYC file is simply one that has
been compressed.I must have compressed some DOS files by mistake...an
important DOS program won't run...now I need to expand them back. Would
appreciate any further suggestions

The .myc file may be compressed but it is NOT indicative of all compressed
files. You have a program on your machine that created a file with that
particular file extension, and that file is compressed.
