How automatically make mapped network drives come online after log
Posted by Who am I on February 1st, 2006

I have a synchronisation software that mirrors given folders from one PC to
another through mapped drives that are reconnected when logged on. These
network drives however stay offline until I manually open them. At that
moment they are really reconnected and things start to roll. Is there a way
that these drives, with Windows XP completely and constantly upgraded, really
are connected and online at logon?

My reply is at the bottom of your sent message:

When you map the drive (you'll have to re-map it I think?) tick the option
to reconnect at logon? Does that do it?

The drives are there and when I click on them the first time it takes a
little time to open. Afterward they open immediately. When I right click on a
mapped network drive (and yes, i checked reconnect at logon) and select the
properties of one of the mapped drives it's type is 'disconnected network
drive'
