- How can I install drivers off XP distribution CD?
- Posted by Tit4Tat on December 16th, 2005
My XP is missing at least 1 driver (mouhid, sys), so how can I install
such drivers from the XP CD? (i.e. install with registry entries etc).
Thanx

What tells you that the file is missing?
If the file is required for a new hardware install or driver update
then you can just insert the Windows install CD and the files will be
copied and needed registry entries created.
This file is a driver for a USB mouse so if you reinstall or update
the drivers for your USB mouse it should take care of the issue for
you.
Good luck

Eventually solved this using 'Add Hardware' from 'Control Panel',
but a pity no-one here bothered to point me in that direction :-(
