How can I change the MTU size in WinXP resp. Win2000 ?
Is an re-boot necessary after change ?

No, but you have to restart networking.
BTW
Crossposting to several newsgroups and then setting follow-ups to only
one of them denies some posters the opportunity to see even their own
posts without having to mess about with headers. Not good nettiquette
imo.
In addition. people in the other groups can't see whether this has
already been answered in microsoft.public.windowsxp.network_web so it
may well annoy subscribers when they get the same answer many times
over. Particularly for something as simple as this.
