- how to create the .log file!!

i would like to create the .log file and i don't know how to do.
in my case,the log file i want is like when i open the relative folder, the
log file will record down the time and date.
Anyone vendor please handle this problem for me..

cannot find the steps of your mention.
when i right click the folder i want to audit->properties >advanced>and cant
found the securityto audit the file?
i used NTFS system.

For XP Pro, disable Simple file sharing in order to see the security tab.
