- How do I download SP2 without installing it?
- Posted by Jimbo on October 19th, 2005
I want to format a Win XP HE SP1 maqchine, and have SP2 ready to install
from a CD?
Can anyone provide a link where I can obtain this, please, as MS's website
seems to download then install SP2/
Many thanks.

Locate the "network" install version on Microsoft's web site. This is the
"complete" version which you can save onto a CD.

Thank you, I thought this might be a different version to a home-user's
requirements, I'll download it now.

In addition to what others said, you can create an XP CD with SP2
integration, so that you don't need to reapply SP2 separately after
reinstalling Windows.
Windows XP Service Pack 2

Slipstreaming Windows XP with Service Pack 2 (SP2):

Thank You for this wonderful information ... I will definitely slipstream a
new XP home installation disk with SP2 integrated. I didn't know this was
possible.
