how do i remove access 97 without the disk?
Posted by Richard on April 26th, 2006

Hi
I have aquired a computer with access 97 installed and i would like to
remove it prior to installing the full Office 2003 suite. I'd really like to
remove it first so that i am certain of a clean install and don't keep
thinking of it evry time i have a problem with data access in the future!
However i don't have the installation disk and it says 'setup cannot run
without your programs diskettes' when i try to remove it using add/remeve
programs.
Could anyone help me?

Kind regards,
Richard

Office 97 uses ACME not Windows Installer.

Hi sorry, i wasn't sure where was best to post it and how popular they are,
but i get the hint.
The solution given for the Windows Installer cleanup uitility doesn't list
Access 97 as one of the products it applies to, and also warns that it may
cause other programs to need reinstalling?

Kind regards, and sorry again,
Richard

Richard

The name of the setup program. MS Acme. Windows has never used it but most MS applications did. Someone must have deleted some file it needs to run.
