how do you change the desktop icons name background to transparenc
Posted by Sytkeepr on March 1st, 2008

Hi,

I have xp home on my son's computer and his desktop icons have a dark blue
color behind the icon name. I have tried everything I can think of to make
it only show the letters and not a color. I cannot figure it out, there is
no transparency color selection on anything I can find in properties. He
doesn't want his words to have a blue background behind the icon name, he
wants it with the letters only like on my computer. Help please :-) Thank
you!

Control Panel, System, Advanced, Performance area, Settings button Visual
Effects tab "Use drop shadows for icon labels on the Desktop"
