- How to find the System Administrator?

"The System Administratorhas set policies to prevent this installation".
WinXP home. Logged on as the administrator in safe mode. Attempting to
install Maxtor One Touch-- ExtHD. (Initial window--"1607 Installshield
Scripting Run Time"). My question is--How do I find the System Admistrator
settings?--Thanks in Avance.

If you booted into Safe Mode and logged on as Administrator then that's it -
there is no separate System Administrator.

Go in safe mode and log in with admin account and then change your
account as admin and restart the comp in normal mode and then try... or
try system restore if was working before, i recommend you not to select
a date which is older than a month. make sure you try installing it in
normal mode.

Thank you both very much. I spent the afternon in Safe Mode trying to solve
the problem with no joy. I am still trying to figure out how and where a
System Administrator goes to set policies to prevent this installation. My
System Restore is not in very good shape, due in part to my ignorance.
Anyway, Thanks Again, and I will still be here searching away--It has to be
in here somwhere.
