Answered Question Reply Quote Delete Edit

I have tried un-installing IE7 and re-installing several times. Tried
Windows XP SP3-R2 Unsuccessfully, tried downloading SilverLight (Which is
when this problem all started), and un-installing it, nothing works. HELP
!!!. Firefox works just fine, but IE7 WILL NOT CONNECT TO ANYONE, NOT EVEN
LOCAL GATEWAYS.

My environment:

Windows XP Professional SP2
Fujitsu NSeries 6210 Lifebook, 2 Gig, Laptop
IE7 and Firefox installed
Cable Internet at 10Mps

Normally, that means you are set to use a 'proxy'
IE, tools menu, Options, Connection tab, "Lan Settings" button, uncheck
proxy.

The Proxy box was not checked, and it didn't work. Although I noticed that
the DNS IP address was resolved as IE attemp to connect to a particular IP
address, but fails. It's almost like something is blocking IE from
connecting.

HELP !!!.

Hi,
Running a third-party firewall/security suite? Turn on the Windows Firewall
from Control Panel> Windows Firewall and disable the third-party firewall,
as a test.
