Internet e-mail option

Somehow I have lost the entry of Outlook Express in the Internet
Explorer>Tools>Internet Options>Programs>E-mail drop down menu. I do have
the Microsoft Outlook entry and the blank which appears. My Newsgroups
entries do include both and I can and do use Outlook Express for my mail.
What has happened? How can I correct this deficiency? Thanks.

I guess I should mention that I am using WinXP Pro SP2 with all the
up-to-date updates.
