My sister inlaw burned us a CD unsing Windows Vista, we are not able to open
this CD using Windows XP Pro. It comes please insert a Disc error, we have
taken this CD to a couple of stores, and inserted it into their equipment, we
get an error please insert Disc.

I visually look at the CD I can tell it has been burned about 2/3 of the CD.

If other cd's work ok, it might be because vista burns cd's as UDF 2.50 by
default. I don't believe any other operating system can read UDF 2.50.
Might be a plug-in or tool you can install. Haven't looked for that but your
sister in-law could change her preferences to burn at UDF 1.50.
That should be readable on an xp machine.

Also, was the CD finalized? A CD often can only be read in an
unfinalized state by the drive that was used to burn it.
