How can i check the lan settings on a computer. i am wanting to use a
computer to that connection and not a dial-up one?

Start --> Run --> CMD ---> at the Dos prompt: ipconfig /?

If by lan you mean LAN, and if by LAN you mean network, then open the
network adapter properties. (Control Panel > Network Connection > r.
click the network adapter > properties)

one? I can not begin to imagine what this sentance means.
