Hope someone can help. After downloading norton antivirus 2006 my mums
laptop has decided to run really slow. I can get in ok but a soon as i try
to open up the start bar it will not work. it is showing the egg timer like
it is trying to open it up but it just wont. anyone any ideas as i cant get
into anything.

What speed laptop. I tried 2005 on a 750mhz laptop and it ate it up.
Couldn't do anything. I switched it to AVG and it works great. Norton AV is
full of bloat.

Press F8 after the initialisation screen to enter safe mode.. go to
Add/Remove Programs in Control Panel and remove Norton.. repackage the CD
and give it away to somebody on your 'dislike' list.. do not charge the
recipient anything.. it was not nice of Symantec to get money from you in
the first place, and two wrongs do not make it right..

You are almost safe.. do a Google search on 'free AVG', download, run,
update it.. now you are safe
