Loading windows XP on and HP Laptop running windows Vista
Posted by Mark P. on November 29th, 2007

Hi Everyone:

I hope you can help. I have an hp pavillion that is currently running
windows vista and I want to load windows xp on it. However, I am having
difficulties finding drivers that will work for it such as the video card
drivers and various other drivers. Thank you

HP systems are pretty locked into those 'image' disks that come with them.
You might be able to buy an XP image from HP, check their site. If not
avaiable, I doubt you are going to find the drivers anywhere else.

You do not state if you want to replace Vista with XP or dual boot between
Vista and XP. Dual boot recommended procedure calls for installing XP first
followed by Vista.

The following does not "compute" (pun) "...I am having difficulties finding
drivers that will work for it such as the video card drivers and various
other drivers....". Drivers are generally not a problem with XP and most
cases available from OEMs.
