Does anyone experience this before?
My case is:
a. Windows 2000 Advanced Server as DC
b. Windows XP Pro SP2 as client to join that domain
c. Using Folder redirection (My Documents & Desktop)
d. Local profile is used
Sympton:
1. In Windows 2000 client, logon time is normal (~10-20s)
2. After upgrade to Windows XP SP1, logon time was longer (~20-35s)
3. Now, all are upgraded to Windows XP SP2, logon time more worse (~30-45s)
After enabling the debug mode in XP SP2 client and find there are 20 seconds
delay during folder redirection process.
After searching some forum via Internet, an unofficial patch was found to
fix this problem:
Fix location:
http://jernstrom.org/site/news.php
Forum:
http://www.brianmadden.com/forum/tm.asp?m=18357
My question are:
1. Did Microsoft really have this patch? (I can't search from Microsoft)
2. If so, what's the source with this patch?
3. Any side effect? (I've applied it to one of the client PC it works fine.
20s have been gone!)
Any input is appreciate.
