- Make welcome screen auto prompt for password how?
- Posted by BGC on March 20th, 2006
Hi,
I've got 1 account and the welcome screen is making me click the name
before it will display the input box for the password. This is a new
install, on my old machine I had the same account and the welcome screen
automatically displayed the input box. How do I make it do that again?
Thanks,
BGC

Hello,
Go to Control Panel > User accounts > Change the way users log on or off.
Select "Use the welcome screen". Apply changes. Logoff & restart into normal mode.

I had that set already. The welcome screen appears with my name next to an
icon, but the password input box does not appear until I click the
name/icon. I'm looking to make the password input box appear automatically
when the welcome screen appears so I don't have to click the name to make it
appear every time.
I recall doing something to make that happen on my old system, possibly with
TweakUI, but I can't recall what it was.
Thanks,
BGC
