- microsoft word not available
- Posted by shirlaust on May 2nd, 2006
Had a problem that caused a reformat of the computer and have been trying to
get programs back on the computer. When the computer was purchased it had
microsoft word on it but I have no disc to reinstall this program. I only
have word pad.
Is there a chance that if I contact microsoft that they can assist with
replacement disc since it was a legal version.....and what is the difference
between microsoft office and microsoft word????
Thanks in advance for any assistance re this problem.

Shirley;
Microsoft Word is a component of Microsoft Office, but Word is also sold
separately.
If you have Microsoft Office, that is what you need to install.
Since Microsoft Word was installed on the computer when purchased, it is
most likely OEM.
Microsoft will probably be unable to help.
Instead contact the computer seller/manufacturer.
