- msvcr80.dll is missing in the new NET 2.0
- Posted by Carol S. on November 15th, 2005
Hi,
Today Liveupdate downloaded and installed (successfully) the NET 2.0
upgrade. But my Norton Windoctor says that the file msvcr80.dll is missing;
ten .exe's need to use it. Is there a place to download that file? and where
exactly should it go? I could just uninstall it but I seem to remember that
one of my programs needs it.
Apparently this update was posted today. I did find the version in the .dll
library info.
TIA,
Carol S.

FYI - the file was on your hard drive, just not where Norton WinDoctor could
find it - its location should be:
%windir%\WinSxS\x86_Microsoft.VC80.CRT_1fc8b3b9a1e 18e3b_8.0.50727.42_x-ww_0de06acd
and should include these 3 files:
msvcr80.dll, msvcp80.dll and msvcm80.dll

Dear Admiral Q,
You are absolutely right. But my original searches in Win. Explorer and then
with the XP Search did not turn that up. Seems to me that it should have???
Anyway, I downloaded the file and put it in C:/Win./Microsoft.NET/Framework/
v2.0.50727, where WinDoc could definitely see it.
Thanks for your contribution, tho; another bit of info learned.
