I downloaded and iinstalled Avast but my computer froze each time I booted.
I had to hurry to get into uninstall software prior to a complete boot in
order to uninstall Avast before my computer froze again. I was successful.

I then downloaded PC-cillin by TrendMicro and had the same problem except
that there was no program in uninstall softwre so I had to hurry to get into
msconfig and check the box to boot into safe mode prior to my computer fully
booting. I was then able to delete the program.

Why is my pc suddenly freezing when I install a new anti-virus program and
what can I do so that it will not freeze up when I install one?
