- Netgear Router
- Posted by mark on January 16th, 2006
I have just purchashed a Netgear router. I also have an NTL 250 modem which
connects direcly to my desktop pc via an ethernet lead and card and works
fine.
When I coonnect the router in between the pc and modem my computer does not
see the router. I have had coutless conversations with Netgear trying to ping
the IP with no sucess. All firewalls have been removed. Something somewhere
is blocking it. Please help.....

Possible solution(s)
1. Is the LED for the connection on on the router and network card - if not
check the cable.
2. Check the Netgear manual and look for the default IP. You need to be on
the same subnet
i.e if default IP = 192.168.0.1 then your computer needs to have an IP
192.168.0.x where x is 2 to 254
