Greetings & Salutations,
I'm having trouble setting up a bluetooth connection to a device that does
not support passkeys.
I have received an infosheet that outlines steps to disable passkeys for a
service for a device, unfortunately my Windows bluetooth service does not
appear to match the (MS) service that they are using. This leads me to belive
that there are other versions available (MS Bluetooth, not third-party).
E.g., when right clicking the bluetooth icon in the system tray, my menu is:
Add a Bluetooth Device
Show Bluetooth Devices
----
Send a File
Receive a File
----
Open Bluetooth Settings
----
Remove Bluetooth Icon
While their menu (using the exact same method) is:
Explore My Bluetooth Places <-- Default
Bluetooth Setup Wizard
Advanced Configuration
----
Quick Connect > (popup menu unavailable - they don't show the info in the
sheet)
----
Stop the Bluetooth Device
Is there in fact other Microsoft versions available? If so, where can I find
them? Searching the MS site finds nothing (could be my search criteria).
Also, they mention turning the Secure Connection option off in the
properties of the local service that corresponds to the device, how can I do
this using MS Bluetooth services?
I have not installed any extra drivers/software for my bluetooth radio
device. I plugged it in (USB) and Windows installed automatically. BTW:
before you ask, we actually got the wrong drivers shipped with the device,
they actually belong to another companies product.
