- no restore point
- Posted by Low-tech chick on July 4th, 2008
I need to restore my son's computer to previous restore point due to virus
infection. F8 key does not start computer in safe mode. MSCONFIG does not
show any restore points available prior to July. The calendar page within
MSCONFIG/restore option won't go to June when selected.
Anyone have any ideas?

The F8 key will work. Press it many times during the 'black screen' portion
of a startup, right after the BOIS screen info is displayed. You can't press
it too many times. This should give you the option to 'restore to factory
defaults' (and help him understand the need for learning how to backup the
system.)
