I get this error in NTBackup in XP:
"Error returned while creating the volume shadow copy" 800423f4
The log follows with the listing of my mdb files that were unable to be
backed up as a result, as well as outlook pst files etc..
I've searched around and havent found a solution which matches my
issue, most were for 2003 (a hotfix, which wouldnt work for XP).
Does anyone know of a solution?

I was just looking at that shadow copy option the other day.... what are the
implications of turning it off?

When used in conjunction with backup it permits backing up open files.

If I turn it off then these files cant be backed up when open, which is
nearly all the time.
In the past this was never a problem (using shadow copy).
I have verified that the service is running etc...
