Numerous BSODS
Posted by Small Print on December 19th, 2007

Hello.

Lately, I've been having real problems with my PC. I've searched these
forums a while before joining, and I think I've found the solution to
some of my problems. However, I'm still having problems with BSODS.
It's been alot better since I removed my Graphics card and Sound Card
driver, but I'm stilling getting BSODS at seemingly random times. The
last was 'BAD_POOL_HEADER 0x19', although I've previously been getting
a wide variety of errors.

To do anything I seem to need to load up in Safe Mode, as any other
time, it will be like a timebomb, not knowing when my PC will go off.
For the record I've got a G-Force 7950GT graphics card and a Realtek
Audio '97 sound chip which is built on to my A8N-SLI Motherboard.

Can anyone help? I will obviously upload any information you need that
I can get. Thank you.

A complete of the Stop Error message might help.

Background information on Stop error message:
http://msdn2.microsoft.com/en-us/library/ms793223.aspx

Not too helpful.

http://aumha.org/a/stop.htm
Don't get thinking that one of the Knowledge Base Articles has to apply.
They often relate to problem which occurred years ago and often no
longer arise because software has been changed.

Does a BSOD ever occur in Safe Mode? If you boot in normal mode does it
always result in a BSOD?

What is your Windows XP CD as it is described on the face of the CD?

What is your computer make and model? How old is it?

Please post copies of all Error and Warning Reports appearing in
the System and Application logs in Event Viewer for the last boot. No
Information Reports or Duplicates please. Indicate which also appear in
a previous boot.

You can access Event Viewer by selecting Start, Control Panel,
Administrative Tools, and Event Viewer. When researching the meaning
of the error, information regarding Event ID, Source and Description
are important.

A tip for posting copies of Error Reports! Run Event Viewer and double
click on the error you want to copy. In the window, which appears is a
button resembling two pages. Click the button and close Event
Viewer. Now start your message (email) and do a paste into the body of
the message. Make sure this is the first paste after exiting from
Event Viewer.

Are there any yellow question marks in Device Manager? Right click on
the My Computer icon on your Desktop and select Properties,
Hardware,Device Manager. If yes what is the Device Error code?

Hope this helps.

Kmixer.sys is a Microsoft driver related to Audio. It loads on Start-Up.

I would try Start, Run, type "sfc /scannow" without quotes
and hit Enter.

Description of Windows XP and Windows Server 2003 System
File Checker (Sfc.exe)
http://support.microsoft.com/default...b;en-us;310747

You will need your CD.

The driver schedsvc.dll is relates to Task Scheduler. Have a look in
Task Scheduler to see what should run at 19.17 or thereabouts. Start,
All Programs, Accessories, System Tools, Scheduled Tasks.

Hope this helps.
