Hi,
we have a PC under WinXP with an ATI Radeon Sapphire XT600 graphic
card. We can connect this pc to two monitors, one is sony multiscan
200ES, the other is an IBM, both are 17". At each startup on one of the
two monitors, there are a lot of dashed green lines on the startup
screen then the session opens then the screen becomes black and we get
a message "out of scan range". It seems as the graphic card would send
a bad or higher refresh frequency, or something like this. We have not
the time to launch the ATI driver so we can't change the refresh rate.
In windows safe mode, the VGA mode is activated so we have no access to
ATI drivers.
Question: how can we modify the resfresh rate of the ATI card ? Why
does not the graphic card take into account automatically a refresh
rate well suited to the monitor ?
Additional question: we live in canada (voltage 110V, 60Hz frequency)
but the PC is a french computer so works at 220V and 50Hz frequency. We
have a voltage converter to make the pc work at 110V but the frequency
is again 60 Hz and not 50 Hz. Can this change the refresh rate sent by
the graphic card to the monitor ?
Thanks
Boris
