Owner User Account Inaccessible after System restore
Posted by Meepeth on November 5th, 2005

After doing a system restore (the one that says will save all my files)
somehow all my old User Acoounts have become inaccessible and I can't
log in as them. The new default user has been changed to a new name,
and I can't access any of my old files kept in the old user's
documents.

On a HP, 2 years old. All the files and programs are intact, but I
cannot get to them unless I'm under the original user.

Meepeth,

I believe you're referring to HP's system restore feature, and not the
Windows XP's System Restore. You need to take ownership of those folders.
Login as Administrator from Safe mode (XP Home)
