- Password problems
- Posted by Dena on January 30th, 2006
I am running Win XP Pro on a machine that won't let me into the
Administrator mode becasue it tells me that my logon is not allowed. I must
have messed up the password when I installed the OS becasue it will not let
me in with my normal administrative password. Is there a way to get around
this? I need to get to the administrator mode but don't want to lose
everything on the computer. Any suggestions?

If you have another account on there that has admin rights do this...
1. Login as that user w/ admin rights.
2. Right click on my computer - then click management
3. Go to Local Users and Groups - Click Users
4. Right Click the Administrator name and hit set password.
If you don't have another account on your PC with admin rights do
this..

As you don't seem to normally use that account this hopefully doesn't apply
but just in case:
