- PC regularly crashing

Hi,
My PC (XP Pro) keeps having a `fit`... basically it is fine then will say
`logging off` and start to shutdown... the screen goes blank, then you are
left on the logging on screen.
It is getting frustrating, and I am not sure if is due to software or
whether it could be hardware, like a loose video card?
Anyone got any ideas?
I have checked event viewer and notice the following occurs when it crashes,
in source "ipnathlp":
"The Network Address Translator (NAT) was unable to request an operation of
the kernel-mode translation module. This may indicate misconfiguration,
insufficient resources, or an internal error. The data is the error code."
Could this be the cause of the problem? It occurs whether i am online or
offline.

Does it give you an event id code?
Try uninstalling and reinstalling your network card.If onboard,remove
from device manager.

When did you last do a comprehensise check for viruses, trojans and
spywares? Perhaps this is just the time to do this.
You should download a free GRISOFT product
then download Webroot's or Lavasoft's antispyware program. Also,
Microsoft's Antispyware Beta tool would do the trick to track down any
rogue programs on your system.
If none of these work then it is a good idea to do a repair install of
OS which should help a lot. But first try the free software tools.

Hi C,
The event code is 31012
I have disabled the network card. This has made no difference.
Any more ideas?

I check for virus/spyware etc regularly and dont believe this is the cause of
the problem.
