- Playing .ASX

I cannot play streaming .asx files anymore on my Media Player (WMP10).
This has only begun to happen recently. I upgraded to WMP10 from WMP9
but get the same result. I get an error message like this:
"Windows Media Player cannot play any items in this
playlist. For additional information, right-click an item
that cannot be played, and then click Error Details."
Unfortunately, there is no where to click on Error Details.
Interestingly, Realplayer is also not playing my .asx playlist. Any
time I try to click on a streaming video from a website that's a
windowsmedia playlist, I have trouble. Any suggestions would be greatly
appreciated. Thanks.

Open WMP. Click on tools and options. Then on the file types tab. Look and
see if asf file type is checked. If it is but it looks dark around the check
box, recheck it. Then try to play your asx file.
