Problems after rebooting system
Posted by dieseldust818181 on April 15th, 2008

After I rebooted my vaio laptop (with windows xp), i have been unable to
download windows xp 2, it freezes when it gets to the section identifying
product key. i tried updating the product key on the microsoft website -
entering the key on the bottom of my computer - and it says the key does not
match my system.

i checked that my system is valid and it is according to microsoft - any
advice on how to resolve this problem, or what the problem may be would be
great!

i bought the computer new in 2004.

You know the key on the bottom of the machine is the right one, so I would
use this utility to change to it.
Product Key Update Tool:

Rebooting a computer involves turning it off,
then turning it back on again.

It looks more like you mean re-load your OS

At any rate...get a free utility called magic jelly bean and it should be
able to determine
what product ID your machine is using
