- Posted by Phil F on October 17th, 2005
Running XP Home SP2 on 300MHZ Dell. When I shut down, I see a box saying "
smax4pnp.exe" is saving data. Do not end program or data may be lost" Program
then freezes, but system shuts down if I click on "end program" What is this
program, and I how do I prevent the problem? Searched the MS site, but no
results. Thanks.

Next time include Google in your search. SMax4PNP.exe is part of your
SoundMax driver software. SMax4PNP.exe runs if you have custom settings for
your sound, such as effects and environments
