- Question about backup utility
- Posted by Tom M on February 9th, 2006
I have recently started using the automatic backup utility that comes with
Windows XP home edition. It is performing nightly backups, and supposedly
backing up the "My Documents" folder to a second hard drive I have installed.
However, when I check the backup file that is being created, I see that it is
only 5.6 mbs in size. The files I am backing up are over 30 gigs. Is it
possible that the backup utility is compressing my files that much, or am I
somehow not backing up everything that I think I am? Any advice would be
appreciated. Thanks.
