Sunday my HP Photosmart P1000 printer worked fine. Monday my computer
couldn"t "see" it. This is a stand alone PC with absolutely no network of any
kind. I'm running XP Home. I figured corrupt driver. Tried to uninstall,
reinstall and keep getting "The RPC server is unavailable" I scanned for
viruses--all clean-PC-Cillin updated daily. Tried in Diagnostic mode--same
thing. Reinstalled the operating system and all security updates--same thing.
Downloaded new drivers from HP website--same thing!! I have contacted HP and
received numerous emails back with things to try to no avail. I also get
another error message when I click on "Add Printer" that says "Operation
could not be completed". I'm missing something but need someone smarter than
me to find it. PLEASE HELP. THANKS, BLOOMER
