How can i remove my modem from the safely remove hardware?

I have found out how to remove the icon completely but thats not what i
want, I just want to remove or hide my modem from showing up in this list

Is this an external modem? a USB modem? Please provide make & model , which hopefully you know.

Which icon did you remove? the one for the modem in the systray (system notification area)?
