- "same action each time you insert a disk" error

I've got a computer running Windows XP Pro and recently when I try to connect
my digital camera to put my pictures to my computer I don't get the menu
popping up with various options, the "what would you like to do" menu that
asks if you want to see your pictures in a folder, edit pictures etc.
The camera won't show up in my computer either.
The camera and device driver are working properly. I do get the button at
the bottom of my screen asking if I'd like to safely remove the device.
How do I go about getting the camera to at least show up in "My Computer"

When you have your camera plugged in, does it show up in disk management. If
it does then see if you can allocate a drive letter. To get to disk
management you can right click on "my computer" and select "Manage".
