I don't know where else to ask about this....

I bought a Lynksys cable modem (model BEFCMU10) last fall and have had
too many problems since. My router is a netgear RP614v2. Everything
was fine when the router was working with a Toshiba 1000 modem. Now
it seems like I'm constantly recycling. I've even learned how to use
the repair feature in Network Connections.

My cable company claims the feed is uninterrupted and two remote tests
showed the modem is fine too. One support tech said it could be a
problem between an older router and newer modem and I should contact
netgear about this. I'm having the cable company come to check the
outside connections.... just to make sure the problem isn't there.

Is an old router (2 years), new modem communication problem a real
possibility or were they just passing the buck? What can netgear do
for me if it is?
