- Posted by Charlene on May 8th, 2006
Hi,
I have windows media, yahoo, msn, quick time and spy sweeper all opening up
when I log in after a reboot. How do I stop these programs from starting up?
Thanks,
Charlene

Start --> RUN --> MSCONFIG --> OK
Startup tab..
Find where each thing is located (Startup folder, Registry, etc..) and then
go there and stop it from loading..
(Don't just disable it with MSCONFIG)
A better way would be to look in the configuration settings for each of the
applications and find out where the setting for "Start with Windows" (or
some similar wording) is and change it.

Another way.
Startup Control Panel

Startup Control Panel is a nifty control panel applet that allows you
to easily configure which programs run when your computer starts. It's
simple to use and, like all my programs, is very small and won't burden
your system. A valuable tool for system administrators!
Startup Control Panel is compatible with all modern versions of
Windows, including Windows 95, 98, 98SE, ME, NT 4.0, 2000, and XP.
May need to use InstMsi

It worked!! but the windows media keeps opening. When I try to close it, it
gives me a program not responding message and an option to end now.
Thank you!
