After upgrading ram on AWARD BIOS machine, system stops at F1 to continue....
istead of continuing the boot. How can I get the system to bypass this?

You have to go into the bios and upgrade the memory settings it might still
have the old memory settings in the bios

You don't give a lot of information for this group to help, but sounds like
your BIOS wants you to go and tell it that you have changed the amount of
RAM. Or, your CMOS battery is dying and the BIOS cannot remember the last
settings.

What happens when you press F1?
Have you looked at the BIOS settings to see if the RAM amount is correct?

didn't change RAM; PC is 4 months old!!! What gives???? Is it virus related?
any advice much appreciated.

RAM goes bad when it goes bad. Age has nothing to do with this event. I
would suspect defective RAM or defective BIOS battery.
Your system should still be under warranty. Why don't you ask the
manufacturer first?
