I'm trying to do a system restore and having problems. When I choose the
Restore Point and click next, I'm taken to a screen that warns to close open
programs, etc. and then click next. I click next and nothing happens. Any
suggestions?

Try from Safe Mode Command Prompt. Note that certain anti-virus programs can
agressively block scripts running in local computer.
