- Taskbar will not display open programs
- Posted by chansaur on April 14th, 2008
I'm sorry that I know pretty much nothing about computers, so plase
excuse my horrible description of my issue.
My computer was moving a tad bit slow. I was being a bad chemcial
engineering major and opened up two huge programs(my old laptop
couldn't even take 1 of them being open for more than 20minutes).
Anyways, it was absolutely horrible so I decided to restart my
computer.
When windows came back up everything looked normal but then I opened a
program and there was no little bar with an image dispaying 'internet
explorer' or anything like that. When I minimized the window it
disappeared completely and I had to go through task manager to bring it
back up. I've had the issue for a few days and it is really annoying.
I tried to play with the taskbar options but the closest option I was
given was if I wanted the program boxes that are missing to stack up
similar programs(ie "6 inernet expl...") or stay singular (6 different
boxes in stead of one)
I'm sorry if I am making this out to be a big deal especially if it
isn't but I really can't seem to fix anything and all my internet
searches pull up are about displaying running/non-running taskbar
icons(in the box near the clock) and my problem is in the middle area.
Thank you for whatever help/suggestions anyone can give.

A better solution is the Taskbar Repair Tool Plus might be better:

And do not forget to re-enable the Quick Launch toolbar after.

appear? If they do, try this:
-Move your cursor to the bottom of the screen to get the taskbar to appear
briefly.
-Right click on the taskbar.
-Select Properties.
-Uncheck the "Autohide the Taskbar" checkbox, if it is checked.
-Click OK.
Hope this helps.

AMAZINGLY!!!
I still don't know what the issue was but I clicked a link, ran a
program, and magically all the minimized program buttons reappeared
Thank you sooooooo much!!!!
