Turning Off Text to Speech
Posted by Steve on January 6th, 2006

Hi All

How do I turn off the text-to-speech function. It is working great but it
has got to a point where it is annoying.

Thanks

Steve

What is it then. Text To Speech is merely a service not a program. Programs use it. What program is actually asking it to read your text. EG Windows has narrator for retards. This is the only program that comes with XP that squawks. But it is also easily viewable on screen.,

Excel is using it. When I firtst attempted to use it, I had to insert the
Office disk to enable it (obviously an add-in). However, I don't want to
have to remove all of Office just to remove this service. There must be some
way of just "swithcing it off". However, it is not apparent within Windows
or Excel.
