Unable to format CD-RW Disc
Posted by Gandcp on November 9th, 2005

I put a partially used CD-RW disc in the D drive (DVD/CD write), clicked on
'My Computer' and clicked on the disc. I then clicked 'File', however, there
is no 'Format' or drive option to erase the disc. I went to 'HELP' and it
indicated 'Format' would be in the 'File' menu. Not so. Any ideas? Thank
you.

Gandcp

You need a programme like Easy Creator to handle CD-RW disks.

Hope this helps.

windows xp has built in CD writing software installed (Roxio).
Normally, CD for file copy do not need to be formatted.

Hi, Gerry & Dennis,

I have Nero 6 and can format the disc, but I was concerned I had a problem
with the 'File' menu, since it did not include the 'Format' option. Thanks
to both of you.
