- Undesired folders and application windows opening at Windows start

When I boot Windows, the folder containing Symantec LiveUPdate (c:/program
filess/symantec) opens and remains open. Also, the CheckPoint Integrity Flex
application window opens and remains open. What registry settings may be
corrupted that are causing these windows to open up?
